What type of session is considered portrait?
A portrait session can include anything from maternity photos, baby/child photos, or family photos. A portrait session includes up to 5 family members + pets. There is a fee for additional people beyond 5. I currently do not photograph large extended families or groups.
Where are your portrait sessions held?
I currently do not have a studio so would either come to your home for the session or it would be held outdoors in a designated location. In home sessions are usually treated as “lifestyle” sessions around your home and more casual. I shoot with all natural window light, so as long as you have adequate window lighting in your home, it will work great. Outdoor sessions are held at a local park, trail, field, beach, etc of your choice. Outdoor sessions are held in the early morning after sunrise or in the evening prior to sunset to allow for optimal lighting in your photos.
What kind of photos do you take?
With my portrait sessions, I do love capturing some perfectly posed images for you where everyone is looking at the camera. However, my favorite images from my sessions end up being the spontaneous, candid shots that are perfectly imperfect. I love a mom gazing down lovingly at her pregnant belly, a 1 year old exploring the leaves around him/her, a family embracing in a hug or giggling over daddy tickling them. Most of my sessions are a combination of some posed & the rest spontaneous/candids.
How do I schedule my portrait session?
If you would like to schedule a portrait session, please contact me via email for availibility since sessions are limited. I will have you complete a questionnaire to find out more about you and who I'll be photographing, sign a contract/model release, & submit a $100 deposit (which of course goes toward the total cost of your session).
